This piece is inspired by growing up trans in the Christian community. It depicts Jesus as a trans woman, in tears at the thought of the beliefs so many of her followers have adopted about trans folks.

Fire surrounds her, demonized by the community she taught to love as they love themselves. She is the image of beauty, miracles, change, rebirth. But she is cast out. She is not sad for her own ego, but for the trans children she knows will suffer at the hands of the hateful children who claim her as their teacher. She is the mother of all, of sacred love, of divine feminine and healing.
